  1. Natya: Origin, usages and Reasoning as per Bharat Muni.
  2. Definition of Navaras.
  3. 4 Nayak-bhed (4 variations of Nayak): Dheerodvat, DheerLalit, DheeroDaatt and DheerPrashant.
  4. 4 Nayika-bhed (4 variations of Nayika) and the definitions:  Abhisarika, Khandita, Vipralabdha, Proshit-patika
  5. In Dashavtaar: Stories of  Matsya, Varah, Koorm and Narsingh incarnations and their mudras.
  6. Details of “Taal Ke Das Pran”
  7. Knowledge of Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Kathakali Nritt. Knowledge of their costumes and instruments.
  8. In Teentaal, Jhaptaal, Dhamar: Be able to write in proper notations: Aamad, Bedam – Tihayee, Farmaishe-paran, and Chakkradar Paran, Tripalli and Kavitt

  1. Definitions of different Bhav (expressions): sthai – bhav, Anu-bhav, Vyabhichari-Bhav. Ra ski Nishpatti.
  2. Knowledge of following definitions:
    1. Tripalli, Kavitt, Farmaishee-Paran, Kamali-Paran, Bedam-Tihayee, Tribhang, Sudhang, Laag – Daant, Anulom, Pratilom, Bhramari, Nyas – Vinyas.
  3. Details of the following singing styles used in Kathak Nritya:
    1. Ashta-Padi,
    2. Dhrupad,
    3. Thumari,
    4. Chatu-rang,
    5. Trivat,
    6. Tarana,
    7. Chaiti,
    8. Kajari,
    9. Hori.
  4. The contributions of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and The King of Raigarh- Chakradhar Singh in Kathak.
  5. In RaasTaal (13), Dhamar (14), Gajh-Jhampa (15), Pancham-Swari(15) :
    1. Be able to write Aamad, Tihayee, Tora, Chakkradar Paran and kavitt

Practical:

  3. Gajh-Jhampa or Choti-swari (Pancham Sawari) and Raas Taal and Dhamar : Presentation of Dhah/barabar, Dugun,  Thaat, Aamad, 2 Tore, 1 Paran and 1 Kavitt .
  4. GatNikas: Aanchal, Naav, Ghunghat varieties.
  5. GatBhav: All from past years and Dropadi-cheer-haran.
  6. Thumari Bhav (Important to know the words, Raag, and Taal)
  7. In any taal, one Trivat or Tarana.
  8. Parhant of all compositions.
  9. Gatbhav on Abhisarika, Khandita, Vipralabdha and Proshit-Patita. Instead of Gatbhav, you can also do a Bhav-Nritt on a pad/Thumari.
  10. On Teentaal or Jhaptaal Tatkaar, do Lari or Chalan.
  11. Abhinay Darpan Shloka:  Aangikam Bhuvanam yasya….”
  12.  On any 2 Sant/Kavi (poet)  (except the ones already performed on last years), be able to present a Bhav Nritt and be able to give introduction of the poets.
