Welcome to Session 2023-2024Welcome Note from Artistic Director. "Dance is Divine". Dance gives you a positive perspective towards life and helps you lead a healthy (physically and mentally) life-style, full of enthusiasm, positivity and hard work. It gives you a platform to express and exchange ideas while enhancing your personality. With this motto and objective, we continue our journey of Exploring Indian Classical Dance called Kathak. A glimpse on Session 2022-2023 What a great Session we had! Celebrated 20 years of existence though our annual concert, "Yashodhara", a DanceDrama, where not only our students, but their siblings and parents also participated with great enthusiasm. This was our 1st attempt on DanceDrama in annual concert, although we already did a fabulous RamLeela at AIA-2022 Deepawali event in front of 4000 spectators. Nov and May exams: Student's confidence showed up in their exams and they all completed their respective levels with flying colors. Best wishes to College going students. We had total 5 high-school-seniors who appeared in Madhyama-Poorn/Visharad-Pratham exams, this session and passed with 1st divisions, We wish them very best for their college life! Keep Shining! Session 2023-2024 What's New? Introducing Sitar group lessons Day: Saturday(s) Time: 11:00-noon Will Marsh has been a dedicated teacher and performer of Hindustani classical sitar for over 15 years. He holds his MFA in Sitar Performance from the California Institute of the Arts and has studied with some of the world’s greatest musicians including Ustad Aashish Khan (eldest son of Ali Akbar Khan), Roshan Bhartiya, Tushar Bhatia and Shakir Khan. Currently, Will resides in theCalifornia Bay Area as an active teacher, performer and recording artist. See a clip of Will performing here. We need at least 4 students to begin the group lessons. Students do not have to have Siter to begin the classes. Sitar would be provided to rent till they decide to purchase. Please spread the word. Affiliation with Sitar will help us towards RangManch Pradarshan for Visharad Students. For more info, pl contact us directly. Volunteering System We learn and refresh our knowledge when we explain to our juniors. Madhyama & Visharad students need to do volunteer work as a mandate towards their exams. Please add your volunteer details here. Alignment of levels It would be in everyone's best interest to align classes within the same level. Hence, there will be potential changes in class timings for few students. Stay tuned while we finalize details. Changes will be applicable from August. Certificates for Nov 2022 exams are available to collect. Fees Payment System With added affiliations, we need to move to 3rd party for administrative work. Due to which your monthly fees will be increasing by $20 for all existing students. As an alternative, you can still continue with your previous fees structure but with 6 month + 5 month payment option, as below: 1: 1st payment due by Aug 8th for : Aug-Jan 2: 2nd payment due by Feb 8th for : Feb-Jun Please review General Rules once here.
